I have had a couple of issues with the alarm plugin since 0.2.0 (my first version of MP) which I am afraid are still present in the latest stable release (I did a clean reinstall of MP):

1. MP doesn't seem to adjust the wakeup timer if a new alarm task is created or if an existing alarm task is modified (e.g. time being changed or reactivated). I attached two logs that demonstrate this issue: during the interval logged in #1a, I changed the next alarm wakeup to 15:59 which is not reflected in the log whatsoever (extensive power scheduler logging was turned on)! Instead, it remains at 19:14 which was some scheduled TV recording task. Only after restarting MP once (log #1b), the correct wakeup time is set. Somehow, MP seems to "miss" changes made to alarm task until MP is restarted. I have to add I double checked that the wake up MP option was turned on and the task was activated on the left menu.
2. Whenever I set an alarm task (avoiding the first issue) to radio, MP resumes from hibernation but does not play the radio channel I have set up (not an internet stream but from my Hauppauge PVR-USB2 cable tuner). In fact it does nothing and then hibernates after the 10 mins configured in PowerScheduler as my powerdown time. I can't see any reason for this in the log #2 which I have attached below (the radio task was the 7:59 or the 8:29 alarm, can't remember exactly). I hope someone can explain this to me from the log, i.e. why the radio tuner doesn't start playing after resuming from hibernation as intended.

The first issue was observed on two different systems while I could only verify the second one on my Media PC as the other PC doesn't have a radio tuner.

I'd be extremely grateful if anyone out there could point me to a solution to some of the issues. I guess my boss at work is also sick of seeing me arrive late at work due to oversleeping because my MP alarm has failed... :p

    Hi,
Many issues with PowerScheduler & Alarm plugin it's fixed since MP 0.2.2.0 release, so you should apply the latest SVN & test again.

Meanwhile I updated to the SVN from 2007-01-05 and did some testing and this is what I found out so far:

    1. The first issue I described is definitely fixed now. It can be seen in the logs that the Alarm Plugin now hands over new and modified wakeup times to PowerScheduler. This is nice.
    2. Now what puzzles me is that the second issue still persists even in the new SVN unless I set up a single alarm task (specific date, time). In this case, MP does wake up and plays the scheduled radio channel. But: Then, the alarm timeout (in my case 6 mins) set via the plugin setup doesn't work, i.e. MP never stops the radio alarm. See the single alarm log for details.
If I choose a repeated alarm task instead, the alarm does not work. MP wakes up (as it did in stable 0.2.2) but does not start playing the radio. See the corresponding attached log (repeated alarm) for details.

I'd appreciate any explanations for this issue as I don't see any real errors in the logs. I do not understand why the alarm fails with repeated alarm tasks and works with single alarm. Any help is welcome.

    Thanks in advance,
    ~Cronos

PS: I haven't done any testing with playing files instead of radio yet. This is on my list for tomorrow.

    Hi,
I'll try to confirm the 2. on monday (to much work rest of weekend) if no one else does.

When you post logs try to zip all logs in the folder (better for the dev's) & attach. Sometimes .bak log have more to tell since it sometime can be replaced by a new one...

    Repeated Alarm doesn't play

    Hi,
The 2. issue it's a bug in another place then the first one so that fix wouldn't helped.
Have done some testing & when using repeated wakeup/alarm nothing it's played so thats a bug in My Alarm (logs will follow).
    How to reproduce:
    1. Schedule a repeated Alarm (here I used Internet Radio Stream) & select each (all) day(s).
    2. Wait in MP Home for PowerScheduler to Hibernate/Suspend computer.
    3. Let PowerScheduler wake up computer & wait a couple of minutes for Alarm to start.
Result: computer wakes up but no internet radio it's started (works with single schedule)

The 3'rd (we usually only post one post/one bug ;) ) issue with timeout i have to test later today.

    Regards
    Roy

    Hi again,

I have attached a log that illustrates the third issue with the alarm timeout. Steps to reproduce:

    1. Set an alarm timeout in the myAlarm plugin configuration in Setup (in my case, 5 mins).
    2. Create a scheduled alarm within myAlarm and let MP suspend.
    3. Wait for MP to resume and play the scheduled Radio.
    4. After timeout has expired, radio keeps playing until stopped manually.

Roy: I've got a question concering fixes: How do I know if a bug has been fixed in a new SVN build? Is there a kind of SVN changelog or do the testers or devs always move the threads to the fixed bugs forum as soon as a fix has been developed?

Anyway, it would be great if some dev could look into the myAlarm issues described in this thread.

    Hi,
When a bug it's fixed we/I/developer will replay to this thread with which SVN that contain the fix, you also have the changelog.
Can you also test with a playlist & let MP hib/suspend & alarm wake up comp to play (use F11 to grab a screen shot, you'll find it in My Documents\images something), have a weird issue here when resume.

Will try to reproduce the others & make a Mantis entry, later....

    Regards
    Roy

I have just tried the playlist alarm and I can see what you mean... A window pops up on top of the GUI asking the user to choose an album but it can't be closed anymore... Have attached a screenshot and logs.
BTW, after that I tested scheduled MP3 single file alarm instead of playlist and get the same error...

    Stepwise description:

    1. Go to Alarm Plugin
    2. Set up a scheduled alarm task (file or playlist)
    3. Wait for MP to hibernate/resume at scheduled alarm time
