Hi all,

I'm not about to claim these are bugs since I have approx 3 hours experience with MP.

I have a Win-7 Pro 64 bit machine, Q9505 CPU, 8G RAM with Compro E700F and E900F TV cards. I have been using MCE. Thought I'd give MP a run.

It installed painlessly, and I detected channels on 1 tuner for starters. it picked them all up.

One problem is that I find that the standard def TV channels work OK, but the HD channels have no sound.

Also I find that TV playback is ever so slightly choppy. Not obscene, but noticeable if you look for it. MCE didn't display this choppiness.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks,
Steve

What kind of codec are you using? Lots of issues originate there. Search for SAF or look in the codec forum where you'll be able to find it. This solved a lot of problems for me. Instead you can also use the MS codecs that come installed with Windows 7. They are pretty good too. If that doesn't help you might want to post some log files.

Thanks for that. Installing SAF 4.0 fixed the lack of audio on HD channels.

I'm still getting the slight jerkiness though. Would posting up some logs help with this, or are there some common causes I can check for ?

Cheers,

S

Without log files it's just shooting in the dark (with them it often is too, but that's another thing). But here are some things you can try (you should have the advanced configuration options enabled):
- increase the process priority of both Mediaportal and the TV-Server
- make sure you use the latest drivers, especially GPU and TV card
- did you get the unlocked version of SAF 4? If so, have you tried the Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 codec for h.264 content?

There are hundreds of possible causes for this. It would also be helpful if you could tell us what hardware you use.
