uk freesat epg? (1 Viewer)

I have cable and freesat. my cable dvb epg populates perfectly for 3 days for all DVB-C channels but with the freesat it only populates on the DVB-S channel when I tune to it. it only updates now and next for that channel and all other DVB-S channels have no epg.

does anyone know what channel I can get a full freesat epg? I presume it must be a bskyb channel that is not on the freesat ini.

Hi,
I don't think you can get a freesat epg off air with mp. I seem to remember that the freesat epg is transmitted in some sort of non-standard format (only the now/next stuff is in the standard format). I think that another mp forum member has been working on a grabber for that format but I'm not sure if it is complete. You may be better off using WebEPG instead (that's what I use), in the uk radio times gives you 14 days of program info...

can you use dvb epg and xml at the same time? so dvb for DVB-C and xml for DVB-S?

I use XML for freesat stuff- the only problem is that not all the channels have info supplied by the RT - the main ones are OK, but the "Zone" channels and music channels etc. don't have any program info

Hi all, try this thread, I had the same problem untill I gave this a go. Now for the first time 98% of my sky epg is populated.... excellent!

I have modified the TSWriter to update the 169 channels on the freesat package.

Just to update this thread- a new version of DJBlu's EPG grabber has been posted on this thread - it will give 7 days of EPG for all the 28.2 deg satellite channels.
