In case it's of use to anyone else...

A couple of weeks ago there was a retune in my region and a lot of channels went missing. Some of the muxes are currently on low power but the TV picked them up again OK so at first I suspected my tuner (cheapo DVT USB stick). Then I started wondering if the region dropdown in the tuner configuration restricts what is scanned for, so I had a look at the whole list and noticed an "All Regions" option. When I chose that the scan took a lot longer but it picked up the missing channels again.

Does that region -> scan information live somewhere central or is it build into the MediaPortal install? Will it need updating after the switchover? Something for the dev guys perhaps.

    Hi Mr Techno,

The .xml files that MP uses for the UK regions has been undergoing constant modification as and when each transmitter updates.

I had to reconfigure mine in Nov 2010 and the .xml file for my region was updated then and has been included in newer MP releases. I suspect somebody will be aware of your local transmitter and will be working on it as I write.

BTW Which transmitter are you on??

I had this low power thing for several weeks.. it was particularly bad on one mux - I didn't realise it was low power and went through hell changing settings, reinstalling stuff..

If you look under Program Data>Team Media Portal > MediaPortal TV Server > Tuning Parameters > dvbt you will find an .xml file listed as UK.Hannington.xml You can edit this with notepad and save it with the new details.

If you decide to do so, it may assist if you check with one of the Mods to see if someone else has modified the file, and if not you could post it up for inclusion/replacement of the existing.
