UK Teletext to end Jan 2010 (12 Viewers)

Source: Teletext to close news and information service - TV & Radio, Media - The Independent

A spokesman for DMGT said all Teletext's news and information services - both on analogue and digital - would cease in January 2010.

However, its holiday service on Freeview and other commercial services will continue to broadcast.

Personally, I've been holding off on a tuner so far as I was going to go Free Sat for the switchover.

Can anyone help me out on how this will affect TV Services in MP?

Going freesat is easy in MP, I have both DVB-T and DVB-S cards feeding MP

Hey feriso

Yeah, I've seen plenty of cheap DVB-S tuners. I'm just worried what (if any) services I'll lose.
I must confess, I don't watch a lot of UK FTA.

Where does MP pull program guides and subtitles from.

(Sorry for being a bit thick)

From the DVB stream, same as any other Freeview box (but there's no UK digital teletext/interactive support).

Digital reception here is rubbish at present so I'm a bit behind with the tech.
