On one of my PCs, I have installed MP 1.0 RC3 (single seat) awhile ago. I then went and change the hostname on the PC to something else. This meant changing the TV server hostname in MP Configuration and the hostname to connect to SQL server. However, the TV server is now saying "unable to connect to old_hostname".

How do I change/remove the old hostname from TV server?

If you had installed the MS SQL Management you are able to see, which hostname MS SQL is using.
As I understand you right MediaPortal can't connect to the TV-Server? You can change this by changing the entry in the gentle.config in the MediaPortal directory.
Just open that files with an Editor, at the end of line 61 you will find the hostname and the SQL instance. If there is the old name, change it into the new one and save it.

Thx Koschel, I can connect to SQL server ok. [Hint: you can also run setupTV.exe --config-db]

I'm still having problems running Tv-Server Configuration. After I had changed my computername, the Tv server cannot find or load my previous database files any more. It says "unable to connect to hostname". When I change the computername back to the old name, it works ok.

Is there a way to configure TV server to load my previous database files using the new computername (hostname)?
