"Unable to play" after switching off TV (1 Viewer)

CPU Type: ION 330
MPEG2 Video Codec: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
MPEG2 Audio Codec: ffdshow Audio Decoder
h.264 Video Codec: MPC video decoder
TV: Sony Bravia 32D3000
TV - HTPC Connection: HTPC -> HDMI -> AVR (Onkyo TX-SR607) -> HDMI -> TV


Starting situation:
status HTPC: on
status AVR: on
status TV: on

When I select an MP3 file to play everything works fine and the music starts playing through the speakers of my AVR. When listing to music I usually want to switch of the TV. When I switch off the TV the music stops playing. First I though it could be some HDMI handshake problem, but it's something different.
When I put back on the TV I can see that MediaPortal stopped playing the MP3 file. Selecting the MP3 file again ends up in the following exact error message:
"Unable to play: <mp3 file>
Audio codec: "

In this situation e.g. Microsoft Media Player has no problems playing the MP3 file.
When restarten MediaPortal everyting works fine again.

Anybody has any suggestions how to solve this?

I have Asrock ION330 .
And I also have this problem....
It's connected to my Plasma TV via HDMI
when i listing to music - i switch off my TV - or selecting other hdmi input.
I have no errors displayed - but
Music playback stopped..

Any ideas???

Hi

I am having the same problem. I use a ION 330 based Asus EB1501 box. There are two parts of this problem, first problem is that music stops after a while when TV is turned off which leaves me with no option but to keep my power hungry tv on while listening to music. The other part is that I am unable to play music with the BASS player when turning on TV again I get a BASS_ERROR_BUFLOST in the log.

I have partially solved the issue by using the PureAudio plugin (I am not using ASIO as I couldn't get it to work) this enables me to start music after TV/AVR has been turned off. But it does not solve the problem that HDMI audio is lost if TV is turned off.
