    Hi folks,

I´m not able to play any DVDs since a few days. During search I found 2 older threads (older versions of MP) with the same problem but no solution and no answer since weeks.
Everytime I insert a DVD MP shows me the title in the Video menu, but once I try to play it (autoplay disabled) it tells me "unable to play disc - did you insert a disc?".
Same disc - regardless if original or copy - works fine with cyberlink power DVD. Also no problem while playing music - CDs are working fine within MP.
The only thing I changed, is the firmware of my blueray combo (LG GGC H20N). Could that be the problem? As if mediaportal is not able to find the drive any longer?
:D in advance for your help

did you check your codec settings again ? or tried to change them ? I had such a problem when my audio settings in the AC3 Filter went wrong, so I had this message. Like if the DVD wasnt recognize, but in fact the codec was faulty.

I switched the video codecs before and it did not help.
At the moment I can not check the audio codecs, but I use the same codecs for TV and the recordings without any problems.

    :D you are right!

if I switch to MPA everything is fine - once I switch back to AC3Filter it brings the same error.
As I could not find anything in the AC3Filter Configuration I hope reinstallation of the codec will help

With AC3 Filter you can try to restore settings to default using the .REG file from the Start Menu > AC3 Filter entry.

But, I've noticed it happens when you try to modify the input / output sound format from the main configuration page. Use the "As is" option meaning you do not modify the bitrate from input or to output. You can change the channel configuration that should be no problem. Also, don't change directsound/wave device in the AC3 Filter I noticed that can bring the same problem also.

Now I'm using FFDShow Tryouts, I think it's better and you have more options to play with.

reset of the AC3 filter did not help.
But if I choose the Cyberlink PDVD8 uPnP audio codec & the checkbox for AC3 filter it works fine.
Graphedit shows that AC3 filter is used (passtrough) & my ears tell me that surround sound is back :D

I don´t know why this has to be configured this way, as it was working fine before with AC3Filter selected as audio codec, but I don´t care as long as it works

    thanks for your help!
