I'm having issues getting TV to work, on both a Client-only station and the Standalone versions of MediaPortal.
I've used a utility found at https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/always-most-recent-binary-download.36229/
This reports that three critical connections are successful (and it appears to poll the status of the streaming service), but for some reason I cannot get access to the channel listings or EPG to select a channel to watch.
Using the Preview function of the TV Server setup tool succeeds with no issue, and there are many working channels that can be tuned to using the utility alone, but not in the Media Portal application.
Following information from http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...No_MySQL_database_connection_(client//server) and http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...erver/SQL_Server/MySQL?highlight=troubleshoot , I have confirmed that database access in and of itself is working, and in fact I can view Radio channels just fine, but TV channels are broken somehow.
I read somewhere that there was some update sql script that referenced the Channels table incorrectly, but I'm not sure if that applies here.
I have also attempted to dutifully attach logs. ;)

Lol nice, 94 views and not even a snide remark about how dumb I am? Sounds like a quiet forum then....

Let's call it a friendly forum...

You're (trying) to use a 3 year old addon that hasn't been updated since... And as you have discovered it doesn't work anymore with the more recent versions of MediaPortal.

Did you overwrite the dlls in the MediaPortal folder with the ones that you can download from https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/always-most-recent-binary-download.36229/ ?

Edit: just realised that there are in fact new updates for the mp-tvclient... Still, I'm not sure if it is compatible with 1.3 RC, so same question -> does it work on a clean install without the mp-tvclient? Did you overwrite any dlls in the mediaportal directory?

Thank you so much for your reply!
Oh no, I haven't overwritten anything at all, I used the program in the the thread I mentioned to test a small amount of connectivity, it's a standalone app that apparently is supposed to start Time Shifting on a channel you select, and launch VLC to view it once it's started. Funny thing is, this app can list the channels OK, start the time shifting, and everything OK, yet MediaPortal itself cannot get the list to popup.

In all actuality, once timeshifting has begun, I can go into MediaPortal and join the stream just fine. This also works if I start a test timeshift using the TV Setup app.[DOUBLEPOST=1361522325][/DOUBLEPOST]I read somewhere that it might be a skin issue? If this is the case, I'm going to try out another one instead of the default and see if it changes anything...
