I tested mediaportal and uninstalled it.

Went to open Windows media center after that and get error " Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a software restriction policy. For more information contact your system administrator "
I am the admin and have not blocked this. Home version of Windows also does not include gpedit.msc to enable it again.

I have already tried enablinf/disabling windows features, MCE and media player, but no luck there.
Mediaportal broke it.

Any ideas what to do about it?

Got it,

HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsMediaCenter!MediaCenter
Change 1 to 0

profit...
