UNSUPPORTED MOD: Ability to disable either the Basic Home or Home screen (UPDATED) (4 Viewers)

UPDATE 16 MAY 2009 - Updated for MediaPortal 1.0.2, and fixed Startup bug

This modification allows you to disable either the Home or Basic Home, so that it no longer activates when pressing the menu button multiple times.

Instructions:

1. BACKUP! I accept no responsibility for any damage caused, this has only been tested on my own PC.
2. BACKUP!!!

3. Make a Backup of Mediaportal.exe and Configuration.exe

4. Download the attached Zip file, unzip it, and copy the modified Mediaportal.exe and Configuration.exe files across.
5. Launch Configuration, go to the General settings section, and there you will see the new "Disable Home" and "Disable Basic Home" checkbox - they do what you would imagine!

THIS IS UNSUPPORTED BY THE MEDIAPORTAL TEAM. IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH IT, REVERT TO THE BACKUP.


Please post and let me know if you found it useful! Hopefully on day it will become a standard option.

Excellent. Would very much also like to be able to disable basic-home the same way. Some dev should add this to MP SVN ASAP

Maybe I should change it from "Use only Basic Home" to "Disable Basic Home" "Disable Home" or something? hmm maybe next time I upgrade and need to re-compile the programs!

Have you updated your system to the Final 1.0 yet by any chance? I'd love to see a version working with 1.0 Final.

Updated! see the first thread. Lets you disable either the Basic Home or Home screen. enjoy! report any issues. Dont try and be clever and disable both

thanks, I never use Home Screen. So it's great if I accidentally hit the home, it still goes to basic home

Excellent, never really understood why there was two home screens. Seem to do the same thing to me.

+1 should be included in MP code.
