I had the previous version of MP installed and working flawlessly for over a year on this system.

Did complete uninstall and clean install of 1.0 and I can't get the badboy to run for more than 20sec at a time.

    See attached log file.

My set-up exceeds all system requirements. Passed the pre-check on the install shield.

I chose the I won't be watching T.V. from the set-up menu otherwise went with the one click installation.

    Using the default Skin included...

I do have the older MCE remote in the picture (if that makes any difference).

I really love your product and everyone that has seen it on my 52' LCD is always amazed!

Thanks in advance for any help...

Also is there a place to download previous versions in case I can't get this fixed I would like to revert to the older version.

    Hi Mr_toooasty!
    Try "clean install"
    1.Unistall Media Portal.
    2. Delete the folder "Team Media Portal" and ALL subfolders.
    3. Clean the registry from any Media Portal entry, be carefull - don't delete databases entry's etc.
    4. Reboot the system
    5. Install again MP1 Final release.
You can try also without deleting of registry.

    I hope it helps

    Wojtek

Could you point me to a list of the Registry entries that I will need to delete??

I don't like messing with the registry unless I have some sort of road map..

    Thanks!

Revo Uninstaller (freeware) does a much better job of cleaning registries than Windows Add and Remove Programs if you want to try that out.

O.K. found Revo and that may be the only cool thing to come out of this...

Revo worked it's magic and I nuked the entire set-up.. Upgraded .net to 3.50 sp1 including the separate hot fix file... Ahh Microsoft even your SPs need SPs... lol.

Also installed the latest version of DirectX I think it was already installed did it again just in-case...

Nuked the 1.0 download and re-downloaded 1.0 from the site installed, crossed fingers, said prayer, MP locked up again after 20 seconds, took the name of the lord in vain and now I am typing this reply.

One good thing I am now able for the first time to Ctrl;alt;delete and shut the sucker down without having to go to the soft reboot on the front of my machine...

Why is this good you may ask... well now I can park my butt on the couch and not have to move very much as I continue to try new and exciting things to fix this bad boy...

Find attached the latest log file for your enjoyment....

2 Questions can someone please answer these????

    1. Am I posting in the wrong place?? I am just asking because my attached crash logs haven't been mentioned by anyone in the replies...

    2. Where can I find a copy of the sub 1.0 ver that I inexplicably deleted from my system... Thinking 1.0 would work just fine who needs a back-up...

Thanks to everyone for their continued support....

P.S. If I don't get this thing fixed by tomorrow my kids will mutiny because all of their Pokemon episodes are stuck in MP hell...

There are a massive amount of DirectX errors in your error.log. Since you already said you installed DX9c again, what video card is in the system & what version of video drivers are you running?

Just read another file ... I see you're using Radeon X1200 with an older driver. Are you running a 690G motherboard? Try the radeon 8.12 driver.

The video card is an ATI Radeon x1200 series with HDMI out... on board an Asus MSA-VM MB... 8gig of ram total 512mb dedicated to video...`

I am downloading the most current drivers now and will give that a shot too... Thanks!!

I re-installed 0.2.3.0 RC3 and am back up and running with no problems... Kids will be very happy...

Interestingly when I tried to use the 1.0 xface skin with this set-up I had exact same work for 20sec and then freeze problem...

Thanks to everyone who helped me!!!

Especially to my neighbor from the north 'x4mer' who came through with the fix at 1am CST!!!:D

I can't believe that I didn't have the latest driver for my x1200 card installed!@#$

that fixed the problem and the kids are ecstatic... Pokemon marathon today with the temp below freezing outside..

Also 'ny888' for pointing me to a sweet uninstall tool Revo I'm passing this one along...

I will definitely be donating to support future work on this project...
