First let me say I'm a MediaPortal newbie.
(not new to setting up these type of systems)
I'm working with version 1.5, a Hauppague DCR-2650 cablecard device, and Windows 7.
I should also say that I'm in the USA and use Comcast as my cable provider.
All channels are encrypted, but I believe the flag is "Copy Freely".
All of the equipment I'm using has been working fine with SageTV, WMC and NextPVR.
That said, here's my problem:
It appears as though the config of tuner and scan of channels goes OK.
I then go to the "Manual Control" tab to test the tuner.
After selecting a channel I press the "TimeShift" button. The tuner blinks about a dozen times before I get an "unknown error occured".
For the record, the "Record" button is never highlighted so I can't try that one.
NOTE: I never went any further setting up the system; i.e. EPG, skins, etc.
Hopefully I'm overlooking a step or two.
I am including the log files.
Please help!

    Hello and welcome jrocckow :)

First, big thanks for supplying the log files and all the info about your setup - makes it much easier to assist you. (y)
Let's be straight up: as far as I know, you are the first person to try MP's CableCARD support with a Hauppauge DCR tuner... which is to say that this is going to be a learning experience for us as much as it is for you.

You've done very well to get to the point that you have. From your log files it looks like everything is working pretty well except of course the actual streaming. I have an idea what the problem might be. Please can you try the attached patch.
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Go to the manual control section.
    3. Click "stop service".
    4. Open Windows explorer.
    5. Navigate to your TV Server install directory (typically c:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server).
    6. Take a backup of the TsWriter.ax file in that directory.
    7. Download and extract the attached TsWriter.ax to replace the existing one.
    8. In TV Server configuration, click "start service".
    9. Give TV Server a minute to connect with your tuner again, then perform your test.
Hopefully everything will "just work". :)

    WOW!
I'm amazed how quickly you responded; and with a patch already.
However, it didn't seem to make any difference.

I am uploading the new set of logs.

    THANX!

Hmmm, you're right - it doesn't look like it made any difference.
Would it be possible to get access to your server to take a closer look at the problem?

Sure, I'll do whatever I can to help.
What do you use, Team Viewer?

Only thing is, right now where I am it's a liitle bit past 10 PM.
Too late for an old guy like me to just get started :)

I would be available all day tomorrow if that works for you?

What time zone are you in?

    Yes. :)

No problem. Tomorrow would work fine.

What time zone are you in?
I'm based in New Zealand. It is about 3:15 pm on Saturday. :)
Probably best thing to do is just respond to this thread when you're available tomorrow. I'm a night owl, so I may still be awake tomorrow morning your time. Otherwise we could try after 3 pm your time tomorrow afternoon. Is that going to work for you?

Don't know if you're still awake, but we could try now if you want.
If not, I'll get back to you later as planned.
