Use Quality control checkbox, what is it? (1 Viewer)

Hi there. Newbie, just got the latest SVN build working with my Hauppauge 150. So far so good. But I was wondering, in the capture card settings, what does the 'use quality control' checkbox do?

I did not find any details on the manual, or searching the forums. Thanks in advance.

The quality control is used for setting the bitrate (= quality) of your recordings. A higher bitrate (quality = high) will produce a larger file, but looking better than a file recorded with a lower quality. I think if that checkbox is NOT checked, the quality settings when scheduling a recording within MP will not be used...
