Use SID as channel number when scanning your Sats. (1 Viewer)

Now that progress is being made on the NA sats... THis feature would be a killer time saver. NA channels get their channel number from the SID. This usually comes down in HEX format and needs to be converted into dec. After looking at the database, this is already being done under the SID. There are a couple of channels on the NA sats that have the same name but different channel numbers. Instead of nameing them sports, sports (1), Sports (2)... it would be nice if we had check box that says (Use SID as Channel number) and then it would number them all correctly and you would not have dupes.

This will be a huge time saver.

I am sure others will request this feature once they know MP can now handle NA sats.

I'd love to see this as well.
- Using the channel reorder program is a pain and doesn't work with MySQL.
- After using it, opening the guide doesn't bring you directly to the proper channel, and typing in a channel number does not function.

Any plans to work this out?

I agree too... this would be a great feature if it also allowed you to change the channel by channel number (SID).

This is one Feature i really hope to see soon! For us in NA it would help out alot so no more need of the stupid channel rename utility.

This has been in SVN for a few months now. In the channel list of TV Setup, select channels and right click. You see an option to add the SID to the name.

Doh, you're right. Is there any way to reorder properly by channel #? My channels order like 799,80,801,802,etc
How about going to a channel directly by channel #?

Using this option adds ths SID to the channel name, instead of populating the channel number column with the SID. In order for channel change by number to work, the channel number column needs to be correctly populated. Once it is, there is no point in adding the SID to the name, since the client already supports the "show channel number" option.
