Using Cyberlink's H.264 DXVA Filter with MediaPortal (2 Viewers)

I'm new to this whole installing filters deal. My only prior knowledge was installing ffdshow (and Haali + VSFilter for MKVs) and it played my files just fine on Media Player Classic. But now there's this whole thing about hardware acceleration, which I really have no idea how to set up.

I did some reading and found that MPC-HC's standalone filter is DXVA capable. I tested this out with the stand-alone filters for MediaPortal. I am pretty certain that hardware acceleration was working because CPU usage was at most 5% when I was playing an H.264 encoded MKV. However, subtitles didn't work.

Then I discovered Cyberlink's H.264 filter. I downloaded the PowerDVD trial, registered the cl264.ax filter, and set it as the H.264 decoder. Now, when I play the same MKVs, the subtitles show but CPU usage runs between 30% to 40%. I'm pretty sure HA isn't working in this situation.

Is there something I missed along the way? Do I need to perform other steps in order to get HA working with Cyberlink's filter?

Currently there is no way to get subtitles and H.264 with hardware acceleration in MP. (I think there are several threads if you want to look at the detail)

    Oh, well that's a bummer.

I'm curious though, what about Cyberlink HA without subtitles. I didn't mention it above, but I tried playing an MKV with no subtitles both with MPC and Cyberlink. With the MPC decoder, it looked like HA was working since CPU usage was never above 5%, but with Cyberlink it hovered around 30%.

I am not sure if you need to click the hardware acceleration option in PowerDVD to turn it on ??

    That option is turned on.

Well, I decided trying to get it to work wasn't worth the headache, so I uninstalled the PowerDVD trial, but now I have another problem.

After uninstalling, subtitles don't show anymore! I tried to remedy the problem by setting DirectVobSub to Activated in the Movies Post Processing portion of the Configuration. That does allow me to view the subs, but with this option enabled I can't view video files without subtitles in them.
