I noticed that when I use MP Config to select ffdshow as the mpeg2 decoder, the MPV decoder is still used when the file is a transport stream (.ts) file (ffdshow does get used, however on program streams). So I went into graph studio and tried to manually build a graph using MP's TsReader and ffdshow and could not do it. Although ffdshow shows up in TSReader's list of compatible downstream filters, the two will not connect. Given that, which of the following statements is true? 1. There is a bug in TsReader.ax causing this (it seems unlikely because I have searched the forums and cannot find any complaint of this). 2. There is a bug in ffdshow/libavcodec that shows up when trying to support transport streams but not program streams. 3. TsReader should be able to connect to ffdshow for transport streams. Something is askew in my system that must be causing this. OR 4. Nothing is wrong. TsReader is not supposed to be able to connect to ffdshow as the video encoder for transport streams (which would make the MP configuration screen option misleading). I would like the use ffdshow's filtering capabilities (for example - automatically resize my screen when 4.3 AR is detected), but cannot get it to work on .ts files. I don't have the horsepower to use it as a raw video post processing filter. [/QUOTE]
