Hi, I previously had my MP HTPC going straight into my TV via HDMI (with SPDIF to my Denon 3802) and everything was fine. I then bought a Pioneer VSX300 hdmi amp. Whenever a refresh changed in MP the amp struggled to accept the changes so I replaced it for a Marrantz NR1402. Whats confusing me is that when the refresh rate did change MP started freezing up, responded slowly or jumped to the main menu. How can an amp not doing its job properly cause weird behavior in software? The NR1402 is much better BUT if I leave MP running full screen TV and turn the amp off and then back on, the HDMI handshake occurs and MP loads the TV Guide! How and why is MP switching automatically to the TV guide just because I've turned the amp off and on again? It's bugging me that I cant see how a piece of software is responding to behavior outside the videocard?
