I'm new to MP and am working on a test installation on a standalone box.

I download MP1.2.0.alpha and installed it.

Now I'm following the install directions in this walk thru:

    MediaPortal Setup Guide

and I'm stuck already on the Schedules Direct plugin. When I copy the two DLL files from SchedulesDirectPlugin-MPSVN27679-svn26.rar into the TV Server/Plugins directory, it creates an error with the TV Setup program:

Failed to locate assembly 'Common.Utils, Version=1.1.6.27665,
    Culture=nuetral, PublicKeyToken=null'.

Right now I'm a little confused about the terminology and version names with MP

Is MP 1.2.0 referred to as Version 2?

To me it seems like we have:

    MP 1.1
    MP 1.2
    MP 2.0

    Which is which?

From what I can see in the forums, the error is due to version mis-matches between MP and the SD Plugin. Given that, what is the correct version of MP I should be using?

I think you will want MP 1.2 BETA (not alpha)

Oops. Correct. I have updated to the Beta and Schedules Direct is working now.

However, going over the steps in that installation walk through, and using the MediaPortal Extension manager, I installed Extensions, Show Times and Fanart Handler through it, and those 3 show up in MP Config under Incompatible Plugins?

    Yep,

There's a change in the 1.2 BETA that means plugins have to be verified for that version of MP. It's a great idea so the devs don't waste time on what turned out to be an incompatible version of a plugin.

And, because this a BETA, the automatic download thingy doesn't have the proper "compatible" versions.

So, the fix is to go to the forums Plugins and Skins and download the things you need. Just about every plugin and skin has a 1.2 BETA version available.

Here's the top of the MediaPortal 1 forum:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-1-forums/

    Hope that gets you going.

    Cheers.

Thanks Geoff. I downloaded the plugins from the Install directions and they installed fine and I have most everything in that demonstration configured. There's a few things that won't work from Canada (pandora, netflix) but I don't use/need them anyway.

I have some other questions but I'll start new threads on those when I need more help. Appreciate your responses!
