Hi guys,
Im a complete noob but have been lurking here for a while but have a question regarding my setup. First, here is what Im trying to achieve. All Im trying to achieve is to be able to record a few shows here an there from satellite....note that I don't have cable so I'm not using MP for the guide and such, simply to record the odd show here and there.

So I installed MP and set everything up using a Hauppage WinTV-HVR 950 that I had lying around. I finally got things working for simple playback when I noticed my first problem....there is a 2 second delay/lag, which is not the most ideal user experience when using the satellite receiver for tuning. (ie. I hit guide on the sat receiver and 2 seconds later I finally see the guide pop up on the screen).

So - my thought was, what if I used one of my other tv tuner cards that I have lying around (I have a wintv go and a wintv 350) and use two cards to do what I want. That is, use one of the tuners for live tv (with no hardware encoding) so that I eliminate my lag, but also run the same video feed to the other tuner card for recording purposes.

First off - is this possible?

A few of the problems I see with this are:
- I wont be able to trickplay live tv, since the buffered tuner wont be actively displayed to the tv - unless there is a way to switch between the two tuners easily?!?
-Possible issues with my pc not being quick enough

Any suggestions are more than welcome on other setup ideas to achieve a simple recording rig for satellite tv.

Thanks!
