MediaPortal Version: v1 RC3
MediaPortal Skin: SimpleMP Beta4
Windows Version: win XP SP3
CPU Type: Intel P3 1Ghz
HDD: 60gb toshiba
Memory: 640mb
Motherboard:
Video Card: Mobility Radeon M6
Video Card Driver: ati2dvag 7.67.07
MPEG2 Video Codec: divx
TV - HTPC Connection: s-video

When I open MediaPortal either fullscreen or not, there are vertical bars across the app that makes it impossible to read and navigate. The initial (top) menu is readable, but any of the sub menus are overlayed with these black and blue bars. See attached image. I don't know if it's because my rig is so old and my graphics card is not very good, but it seems like it should be sluggish, not just show these bars. Directx9 seems to be running as far as I can tell using "dxdiag" in XP, but I have no other way of testing.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated. Also, MediaPortal2 works fine, although the videos won't play (probably a different reason for this though).

Anyway, thanks for any help,
-jm

That has to be down to the graphics chipset and\or its driver.

a couple of things you could try is making sure you have latest driver from ATI, also check the BIOS for Video memory setting, most laptops are set to auto, try changing this to its maximum allowed memory.

if neither of above worked, chances are the M6 just does not have enough grunt to do the job.
