I just found an article on MSDN about using dvr-ms:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/smartclient/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnxpmce/html/dvr-ms.asp
It discusses code for using WMP COM component to play dvr-ms files as well as using Managed DirectX, using the new AudioVideoPlayback.dll included in the new DirectX SDK, Feb 2005.
Then it goes into building graphs visually and by code for viewing dvr-ms files.
Finally, it shows you code to transcode dvr-ms files to WMV, debugging filter graphs, and how to access metadata in the dvr-ms file format.
Worth checking out if you're creating this type of plugin. Not sure how the My Burner plugin is going, but this article may help fine-tune the transcoding bit...
