Video always Stutters when played on extended desktop or 2nd monitor (1 Viewer)

Os: Windows 7 64 bit
HTPC : MP version 1.1.8.0
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @2.67GHz
Motherboard: Asus P7H55-M Pro
RAM: 8.00 GB
Graphics: ATI Radeon 6670 1 GB DDR5
Latest drivers
Two Monitors
MAIN Monitor: Maximum Reported Resolution = 1680 x 1050
Extended Monitor: Samsung LCD 40 inch TV 120Hz - 1920 x 1280
Codec Pack SAF 6.0 current version

I have searched and searched and fiddled and fiddled around but cant figure this out. The way it set up now, Media Portal opens on the secondary monitor (Samsung) to play movies while I'm on the net or doing work on the computer. There is always judder, stutter or whatever you want to call it. There is no smooth play back unless I set the Samsung as the Primary monitor. Same goes if I choose to play video on my smaller main monitor. It is smooth playback. As long as it is played on the primary monitor it is fine. I am not sure how i can fix this issue. I just upgraded the video card thinking this would solve it but obviously not lol. I have enabled Dynamic refresh rate in MP configuration as well but it doesn't seem to matter. Is this a known issue for Windows and running things in dual monitors?

Any setting or suggestions from anyone would be great.

I recall reading somewhere that there is something about hardware acceleration or DirectX that is *not* supported on a secondary monitor, and that can sometimes cause trouble. What is your CPU usage level like when playing video on a secondary monitor - that would tell you whether DxVA is in use for a start...

I too have experienced this problem with amd apus. Try these three simple things in windows 7 as I believe it to be aero related. First, make sure all monitors are on the same frequency (I do this as a precaution, but it probably isn't necessary). Then right click on my computer and select advanced settings. Under 'Performance' select settings. Then uncheck enable aero peek and enable transparent glass. You might also have to reboot your computer. I hope this helps.
