Video as background (1 Viewer)

it's possible to have a video background when i press ESC when viewing a video instead minimizing it? for example, i'm viewing a video, and i press ESC (or back) to return to MP menu, but i want to have the video playing as background and MP interface semitransparent over the video... can this be done? i was using TVedia and it works that way and it's nice...
