Hi MP guru's,

 Ok, I feel very stupid when it comes to choosing a video card for my computer to run MP. Every time I go online to choose a card it gets so confusing I just quit and try another time. I'm not sure what I need. There is DVB's, PVR's, DVR's, ATSC's, HVR's, QMA and I seen some guys asking about getting a regular Video Card for the computer, do I need to get that too? And what the hell is a Hybird?

I know it is all based on what I am going to use it for, so here it is:

All I want is to use my MP like Tivo, to record movies off my DirecTV Satellite so I can watch them when I am ready to watch them, cuz they are always on when I am at work or just not home.

I'm am sure there is a simple answer out there, I just need to be told what I need to get. Please help me decide what to get.

Thanks
Mark

:D

you want watch/record satellite TV? you need a DVB-S or DVB-S2 (=HD capable) TV-Card. There are external ones with USB connection and internal ones for PCI slot. FloppyDVB is very good, it is internal for a PCI slot but with a FireWire connection cable. Otehrwise you can try a Technotrend S2-3200 or a card from Terratec or Hauppauge. Search the internet.
