I'm looking for some suggestion to make the video database (IMDB) use-able.
I have updated from 0.2.2.0 to 0.2.3.0 and hoped to have some more functions actually work. One of them the video database.
I have been able to add IMDB data for most of my movie collection. The database scan had such a high failure rate that I had to do it one by one. Actually I did them one by one on the two MP machines that access the shared drives with movies.
A very nasty side effect was that all the correct high definition coverart stored as folder.jpg in the movie folders that I collected over time was overwritten with low definition and often wrong cover art ...
So I spend a lot of time again creating the correct low and high definition coverart images in the 'thumbs' folder as used by the database.
Then I added a second media drive, moved half the movie collection to the new drive and had to change the folder location in for movies in MP settings. Which broke the database ... no IMDB info available anymore, the low resolution coverart in the folder.jpg file is used in filmstrip view. I'm not looking forward to manually fix this again ... Any suggestions?
Related to this. The only way (that I know of) to view the IMDB info is to go to the context menu and select IMDB. If the movie is in the DB it will display, if it is not it will start searching. That is not such a good idea.
Problem I see with this is that in the context menu there is f.i. also the option to delete the video. I do not want to the family (kids) to play arround in this corner of MP. On top of that, there are many kids movies that will not be found correctly on IMDB, an accidental search on these titles will mess up the manually installed coverart. Any suggestions?
