video doesn't play (1 Viewer)

Windows Version: XP mce 2005
CPU Type: sempron 3000+
Video Card: ATI hd 3450
Video Card Driver: latest catalyst
Sound Card: sb audigy
h.264 Video Codec: ffdshow dxva

Hi!,

All my movies seem to play just fine now after a lot of tinkering
ALL BUT ONE!! This is a problem I haven't seen before.
When I click PLAY the player opens briefly en then imediatly closes again. I just does not start playing.
When I play the same file in windows media player, everything is fine.
It's a h264 720p file, I use haali and ffdshow.

OK! I have been getting some progress in this.
The problem is the audio track.
I extracted the MKV file and put it back together without the audiotrack.
Now it plays fine but without audio offcourse.
So mediaportal uses other audiosettings in ffdshow then wmp???
ffdshow handles the audiotrack just fine when played in WMP but crashes the player in mediaportal????

how is this possible?
The easy way is to recode the audio track and merge it again with the video but that's just evading the problem.
I would like to really fix it.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
