Video file troubleshooting (1 Viewer)

I have a season of the show Fringe. All of the show is in .mkv files but one of the episodes does not play in Mediaportal. All the rest play fine though.

What do I need to do to find out whats wrong? Or what info can I try and get to help figure out the problem?

One thing to note is that it does play audio though. It shows just a black screen though for video. And this is also the only .mkv I have had a problem with so far.

does the file play in graphedit, this will tell you if the correct codec is installed.

If not then try SAF (use forum search) or the link above.

Alright I used graphedit. Every file I drop into it shows the same thing.

AC3Filter -> Default Direct Sound Device

FFDShow Decoder -> Video Renderer

no matter the mkv I put in it thats what it shows for me be it a currently working one or the one that doesnt show the video feed. Maybe I am doing something wrong or reading it incorrectly.
