Ok, I've got this problem:

First scenario: When I want to start a movie, TV serie or anything else that needs a refresh rate change, my screen doesn't change the refresh rate, the movie will start, but I get a black box or the left top half of MediaPortal on my desktop (about half the screen). But the sound is playing.

Other scenario is that the movie starts playing, but not fullscreen. It's in that little box inside MediaPortal. When I press the fullscreen button, it will go to fullscreen. MediaPortal is fully functional. Sometimes the refresh rate will change, sometimes it doesn't.

These scenario's don't happen all the time. They will happen about 1 out of 5 times. I can only exit MediaPortal with CTRL-ALT-DEL, when the first scenario happens. ALT-F4 doesn't work.

I tried the internal refresh rate changer and I tried 12noon displaychanger. Didn't make any difference.
I also tried different drivers, no difference. Tried SAF 4 and 5, no difference.

When I use Vista, none of the above problems happen. But I want to use Windows 7, because it runs much better than Vista.

I attached some logs. First movie everything worked. Second movie I got scenario 2. This happened again on the fourth or fifth movie. And The last movie (die Hard) got me the first scenario.

Can someone help?

When I try mpc-hc and the refresh rate changer of mpc-hc I get no problems. So what could it be?

Ok, I reinstalled windows 7. Ran windows update. Installed MediaPortal and haali. Everthing set to microsoft DTV-DVD decoder. And guess what? Same problem.

Can anybody plz help me. This is driving me nuts.

Ok, I think I solved it. I should read and search more.

I used a cmd file to change the refresh rate, and I used the wait.exe command. Problem solved. At least I hope so

ok, I did some further testing and the problem is almost gone. But I get the first scenario (see opening post) sometimes. Really annoying.

Does anybody else have this problem?

The problem is still there in Mediaportal 1.20 BETA. But I seem to be the only one?!

Got a similar problem on WinXP. On RefreshRate-Change I get a complete black screen. After MP restart video is playing like a charm.
I attached my logs.
Btw, same problem if I use a .bat with these command: rundll32.exe NvCpl.dll,dtcfg setmode 1 1920 1080 32 24
Screen stays black on refreshrate change.

I accidentily deleted my logs.

But on topic. I use the 12noon display changer now. I use this command: C:\\Program Files\\DisplayChanger\\dc.exe -width=1920 -height=1080 -depth=max -refresh=23.976 -apply -quiet

This problem still occurs, but less frequently. Sometimes it goes black, sometimes it starts, but not in fullscreen. But it will start 8 out of 10 times.

But it could be better. Crashing is annoying.

I cannot use the nvidia method because of windows 7. Hope this will be fixed somehow.
