update Hi thanks for your responce Ray but no I dont have 120dpi fonts set, I did check this some time back but thanks for the nudge. Upon further investigation today I removed my MP install completely (Simply making duplicate copies of the 2 MP folders) I reinstalled the stable release and made no changes to the config other than check that use Explicit VMR9 was selected and added some movies to the db. This worked so my instant reaction was to think that the prev installed files were corrupt somewhere along the line. I then copied my original backed up MP folders over the new installed ones and the problem re-occured. I then decided to remove again and reinstall MP from scratch doing exactly the same thing and the problem was still there :-/ v v strange and upon further investigation it seems that what is happening is MP is minimizing to the taskbar and pausing the video, If I press play I can hear the audio and my VFD displays all info correctly. I have also just updated my ATI drivers as new drivers were released in March. I should prob also mention the PC spec: Vista 32bit Pentium D 2160 CPU 2gig RAM ATI Radeon 2400 HD gfx card Am i the first to have this issue? another quick point to make is that I can have VMR9 exclusive enabled or dissabled and playback of DVD/TV works fine just avi's fail.
