I am having a serious issue here. I just did a fresh install of Windows and MP. I have configured MP the way I want it, but when i select one of my movies in My Videos nothing happens. It won't start playing at all. I thought it might be because I dont have the right codecs installed so i installed ffdshow (the movies are in xvid) but that didnt help. Also, the only option in the drop down list in the configuration for video player codec is my NVIDIA PureVideo i use for TV. shoulndt there be an option for ffdshow?

Can anyone help me out?

    Hello,
first of all, you should see the MP codecs in configuration. If you use a svn and the codecs aren´t visible in configuration, try to execute the start.bat in the MP directory. That should fix it. If you´re not using a svn, try to reinstall MP. Windows and codecs is sometimes a little bit difficult
For your Xvids: try to install the original xvid codec. Ffdshow can´t handle all type of Xvid files.
