I am going to build a video portal like YouTube, GoogleVideo (mine is small one, for education). There are some questions that i could not find out by using search engine. Here are my questions:
1. Comparison of quality/bandwidth among popular codecs: Flash 7 (Sorenson Park), Flash 8/9(On2 VP6), mp4 (H264), Windows Media Wmv? What's the current best choice for video portal? Cái này rõ ràng thằng mp4 (H264) là tốt nhất, tuy nhiên, tôi không rõ lắm về việc implement.
2. What video codec is actually used in Red5 server (is it Flash 7(Sorenson) or Flash 8/9 (On2)?)
3. Does Red5 implements the transcoding by itself or does it make use of an existing transcoding library (e.g. FFMPEG)?
4. Is it easy to integrate Joomla with Red5. If not, what would be the best free media server to be used with Joomla?
5. If there is no good free media server for Joomla, are there some popular plug-ins that makes use of FFMPEG for video transcoding functionality? What're the name of the plugins?
6. what is the media server of clip.vn, tamtay.vn?
7. What is the typical (or minimum) starting bandwidth for a video portal like http://clip.vn ? 10Mbps/50Mpbs/100Mbps?
