    Hello,
after working fine for a long time now every video playback starts with a delay of up to one minute.
This goes for tv, video and dvd. I believe this is caused by a windows update because i cant find any change that could lead to this behaviour. I changed the video-codec and other video-related settings but up to now i could not come back to a direct start of a video. I added a logfile of a video start. I hope someone can help me.

18:15:56 Pressed Enter to start playing
    18:15:58 Started building graph
18:16:59 Building of graph done (1 Minute)
    18:17:00 Video is playing

So it is the building of the directX graph that takes that long. I am no expert on graphs, but please try to play the same video in graph edit and check if it takes just as long. Otherwise I have no real option here - someone else?

During the reinstallation of directx i realized that this delay only occurs after waking up the pc from standby.
After a complete restart everything works fine.
Is there a way to reinit directx with a cmd-command or anything similar ?

After uninstalling all types of codec and installing the latest codec-pack from
Download K-Lite Mega Codec Pack including update 7.1, which is mentioned after the installation, everything works fine again.
Maybe this is helpful for others with similar problems.

Just from my side: K-Lite may be an exception, but I would stay away from codec packs (even SAF). They often produce more issues than they are worth.

What do you recommend to use as codec ?
... because i am also fighting with a freeze of mp after a fast forward ...

I am on Win 7 using the MS Codec. Most people are happy on XP (that I heared of) with Power DVD 10 and Haali Splitter.
