Video stutters occasionally (1 Viewer)

I have a problem with video stuttering with MediaPortal. It happens on pretty much any video file from my hard drive and maybe once or twice per 15 minutes.

Stuttering video is like two seconds of slow motion video with sound going normally. The video seems to drop some frames and the video itself is not slowed down. Higher quality video tends to stutter a bit more often than low quality.

I am using LAV on everything and have configured hardware acceleration on. I found this thread about stuttering video ( https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/video-stuttering-yet-again.119854/ ) and tried what was suggested there, but to no help.

Is there anything other that might help?

My hardware is a Core 2 Duo processor (apprx. 2 GHz), 4 gig RAM, NVidia GT630 and running Windows 7. VLC runs all files perfectly, but MediaPortal 1.6 seems to cause stuttering in them.

Thanks for your help. It seems that this has improved the stuttering. Main changes I did were in overscan, v-sync and trying different hardware acceleration.

I did notice though that when I use Mediaportal audio renderer, ac3 audio becomes choppy. This does not happen on the default directsound renderer.

I am not sure if this fixed the problem all together, but it has at least improved the situation.
