Hi guys,

Since upgrading to 1.2.1, I am now getting video tearing in all video files. I have checked for any systray notifications (this sometimes causes it) and updated the codecs to the latest ones, but it has made no difference.

If I install XBMC, I get no video tearing in that program - just MP 1.2.1. If it was a codec issue, wouldnt it also be a problem in XBMC?

Any ideas what I can do to look into this?

I am using EVR (always have) - would setting it to VMR9 make a difference?

As far as I know.
Xbmc uses its own codecs so this has nothing to do with the video playback in Mediaportal.

Have you tried the standard Windows 7 codecs?

As alternative you could use my favorite, LAV Cuvid: LAV CUVID | 1f0.de – open-source in a closed world

Since I use LAV Cuvid I don't need anything else. Really nothing!

I deinstalled all other codecs and am using only this. But be careful. Core avc only works with newer nvidia cards.
If you don't have a new one only use LAV Splitter and Audio.

Thanks - do you use EVR?

My gfx card supports Core AVC.

Sure I use EVR.

VMR9 should'nt be used together with Windows 7.

Thanks. I have removed the previous codecs using Revo Uninstaller, installed LAV Cuvid and changed the decoders in MP Config to use them. Also re-set it back to EVR.
Is that all I need to do?
Will try it when I get home
