I have been using MediaPortal for months now and it is a great piece of software. I plan to reinstall Windows on my machine next week, and I would like to have a play with MediaPortal ready for the rebuild.

Having played with the Music Video plugin in MediaPortal, I thought it was a great idea, but I could not find all of the videos I want in the clunky interface. So, I thought I would somehow add downloaded / saved music videos to watch when I want. I also have DVD Rips of my DVDs and also some ripped HD movies as well, and also some other videos.

What I want to do is have a variety of categories so that I can choose how I want to view my movies. This is better explained in the structure outline below:

My Videos >
.................>Standard Definition Movies
.................>High Definition Movies
.................>All Movies (Lists contents of both SD and HD movie folders above)
.................>Music Videos
.................>Stand Up Comedy

I list these under My Videos because I believe this is the best (or possibly only) option to set my videos up as I want them, but if anyone can advise on alternative solutions I am all ears.

I have played around a bit with the settings, and the closest I have come is having the SD and HD folders seperate, but I can not seem to list them both together as well. I can not seem to combine folders into one view.

Can anybody help?

they all combine into one view if you view by NAME.

The problem I have is that I want to view by NAME (fast if network shares) but still break everything up how i like... HD/SD/etc
