Hi,

since 2 days i have trounle with my HTPC. If I try to play any videos (recordings, etc.) they start and stop after 1 second. Accprding to MediaPortal all files have a size of 0 KB, but with the Windows Meida Player everything works fine.

My TV also stopped working. If I try to tune to any channel, MediaPortal crashes and I have to shut it down via Taskmanager. The preview in the TV Server Config is also not working. If I try it with a HD channel i only get a white window. If I try a SD channel I get the same window but i can hear the sound.

I have this problem with a fresh installation of Windows and Mediaportal, so I think I made a mistake somewhere. But where?

Regards,

    Hi DrakeO9

From your logs, it looks like TsReader is constantly seeking in the timeshift buffer:

I wonder whether you have a key jammed on your keyboard or remote... or something like that.

[Edit: it could also be networking trouble since you are using RTSP streaming...]

I don't have a keyboard connected with my HTPC, only my Logitech Harmony 300 as MCE Remote and all keys seem okay.

What about the RTSP streaming thing... for which reason this is needed?

Edit: I reinstalled MediaPortal and all the plugins that were installed before and I also restored my settings with the backup plugin. After I started Mediaportal TV and videos worked well. Then I just restarted my HTPC and all my problems returned. It seems that something got broke when I restarted the PC after the fresh installation.

Any ideas what could cause this?

I think I found the caus of my troubles.

When I start my HTPc without turning my AV-Receiver on, I get the message "A HDMI to DVi connectio nwas detected...." and then I have no sound but all my problems are gone.

So I think it could be a problem with my onBoard graphics. Is a problem like this known with ATI or Catalyst?

Driver 11.4 is guaranteed to work, seems 11.7 also does regarding video playback, but not sure about the audio side as nvidia user.

I guess that could explain the problem - perhaps the renderer is not accepting frames and this means TsReader's buffers are filling up over and over again. I don't know of such a problem, however I think there are certainly plenty of problems involving HDMI/HDCP raised in our hardware -> video forum -->here<--...

I finally solved my problems. The ATI driver 11.7 is just not working for me. Now I use an older version and everything works fine.

    Thanks for your help!
