I've tried to troubleshoot myself, but sadly I just can't figure out what's causing this. It's becoming quite the annoyance now.</p><p></p><p>Typical scenario:</p><p></p><p>I show my kids a couple of Spongebob episodes (SD xvid) then when they've gone to bed me and my girlfriend watch a couple of TV episodes (720p mkv) but after a while I can't get playback to work, I get a popup saying "Playback failed, codec: avc" or whatever coded the episode has.</p><p></p><p>Last night I had a look at the logs and I found this "VideoPlayer: Unable to play with reason - Ran out of memory" in MediaPortal.log at the instant where I got the Playback message (bigger log snippet below in collapsed text starting as I stopped the successfully played episode before the failing one). Typical scenario: I show my kids a couple of Spongebob episodes (SD xvid) then when they've gone to bed me and my girlfriend watch a couple of TV episodes (720p mkv) but after a while I can't get playback to work, I get a popup saying "Playback failed, codec: avc" or whatever coded the episode has.
