View on TV instead of monitor (1 Viewer)

I'm ready to take my next hardware step with my Media Portal computer.

I have a Dell Optiplex GX280 which has video on the motherboard. There is only one video output, the 15 pin "D" connector for a monitor.

I want to watch my recorded programs on my regular TV, not the monitor.
My TV has composite video input (yellow RCA connection) and stereo audio input (red and white RCA connections).

I assume I need to add a video card to do this, right?. Or is there an adapter/converter I could use? If there is a adapter/converter could someone please describe it or send a link showing one? What settings would I need to change?


If I need to add a video card, what should I look for in the specifications to insure it will be compatible with both Media Center and my TV?

Something like -->this<-- would do the trick for the VGA -> composite, but quite expensive. Perhaps you can find cheaper deals locally. A video card *may* help if it has an s-video output (which I think is easier to convert to composite), but many video cards only have VGA, DVI and/or HDMI these days.

For audio, you should be able to use something like -->this<-- or -->this<--. Much cheaper.

I suggest a second hand videocard. Like mm1352000 said, videocards nowadays mostly have only vga, dvi and hmdi output. Older videocards like the AMD HD3xxx series still s-video output which also contains composite video through an simple adapter. You should be able to find a decent second hand videocard for under 40 euro's which has s-video or composite output.
