Hi folks,
I recently upgraded my HTPC to have 8 GB of memory. Since then, none of my tuner cards worked, while the rest of the system just worked fine. After reducing the memory (step-by-step) to 3 GByte, the tuners worked again. I called Technisat support and they told me that Vista has a general issue with more than 3.5 GByte of RAM. They told me that this is known by Microsoft but it is not clear whether Microsoft will release a patch so TV-tuners will work with more than 3.5 GByte of RAM. However, as some of you have configurations with 4 GByte of RAM, I would like to ask for your experience with the following setup:
- Vista 64 Ultimate
- Technisat SkyStar HD 2
- 4+ GByte RAM
Does it work? Do you applied any patch? Do you have additional information and some Microsoft websites where I can raise my voice to show that there is more than one person on earth having this problem?
