Vista Home Premium Remote Desktop (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

I have Vista Home Premium and have just found out that I am unable to log into the machine using Remote Desktop, however I searched the net and came up with this option

Enable Remote Desktop Connection on Vista Home Premium

I have a laptop with XP SP2 that I'm using to try and remote desktop into the Vista 32 bit machine.

Anyhow, I'm having no luck.

Has anyone else sucessfully done this?

I usually use UltraVNC to log into another PC.

Make sure your Firewall is not blocking port 3389. Temporarily turn it off on both machines to rule that out.

Yep, turned off the firewall and no luck. Also opened port 3389.

I'm thinking that instead of using a hack I might use VNC as you have suggested if I cannot get a solution from anyone.

Can anyone else shine some light on this?
