    Hi people

Just a bit of feedback from my point of view using RC4 with a new install of Vista Ultimate 32.

Many people here talk about restoring old settings, this was not done by me, the only thing that went in was TV\Radio logo's into the thumbs folder, everything else, TV Tuning through to MP-TVSeries\Moving Pictures was set up afresh.

The main thing i have always found since TVserver creation, was it did not support my TV card (hauppauge T500) after resume from standby, this is something so well documented, just search T500 on the forum for more information.

Anyway always found a way round it, whether it was by using PVR-Scheduler, Powerscheduler reinitiliase tuner setting or MPStandbyHandler, one way or another got it successfully waking up and recording, until something broke it again.

New install RC4, no more standby problems, same drivers (they have not been updated in the last 2 years), only thing, I still have too set a 20 second delay before TVServer detects cards and that is it.

This post was done for some people who may have had a similar issue with their TV Cards, of whatever make, to try just using a new basic setup without the extra workarounds and see if you have the same success :)

This is also a Thanks to the MP Developers\Skinners especially harley who'se been working his socks of for us (mepo pun intended ;))

Thought i would just share my findings.

    :D for reading

    Good to know.

I really should setup my box so it sleeps from time to time, especially when i'm away, it can be running for days without bing used or recording anything.

    Hi Paranoid Delusion,

I'm sure you know me from a number of posts on Forums or forums I currently have running talking about all the issues I have been having getting my machine to wake up from sleep and record, so your comment is really interesting, especially since I have the same Nova 500-T card and Vista 32 bit. Mate, I'm still strugging with it, so keen to give RC4 a go!!

Will let you know how I go.

    Cheers for the post.

    Hi,

Got the machine to record the first recording OK, but the second did not work.

I was then left with a blank screen and Media Home screen all frozen up (not responding) - I'm thinking it must be an issue with the exiting of the first recording? I have a forum going at the mom,ent with this issue.

I have dropped the Watchdog log file in here.

Gotta get to work, but would be good if you could spot anything. Great to get the first recording OK as I didn't even have that before moving to RC4!

    Cheers

    Graham

    Nova-T-500 and RC4

I must say that I love MP and have for the most part had no problems with any release version. However all went wrong with RC4. The system became unstable with constant crashes and freezing whilst changing channels having to start the task manager to close MP. I initially thought my Nova-T-500 card had failed even prompting me to buy a replacement. This proved not to be the case, I have had to uninstall RC4 and re-install RC3 where all is well.

I look forward to the final release where hopefully this issue will be fixed.

Thanks once again for a great program.
