I had a problem after installing SP2, think it could be down to the 2 hauppauge nova t pci dvb-t cards that i have installed. The remote would not function at all (this is connected to one of the cards) and MP would freeze when entering my tv.

After trying a few quick fixes, i ended up uninstalling the service pack.

Not sure if uninstalling the drivers for the tv cards first, and then reinstalling them after the SP2 update might help.

Anyone else have issues similar to this?

Everything works great as it is (with SP1) so I guess I'm not that worried if I don't install it immediately.

I also have problems with the SP2. My Philips SRM5100 is not working anymore after wakeup from standby.

How did you unistall the SP2?? By a system restore point?

If you go to control panel, then into Programs and features (i think it's called). click to view installed updates. then you can select and uninstall the service pack from there.

Did you try changing the 'USB selective suspend' setting in the Vista power settings ?

In Device Manager, the power management settings of the 'USB Root Hub' devices are also worth trying....

(I have 2 x USB tuners, USB wireless keyboard, USB-UIRT IR and USB Bluetooth dongle all working OK on resume after applying SP2, but I have 'USB selective suspend' turned off and some of the 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' boxes un-ticked on the 'USB Root Hub' devices.)

I uninstalled the sp2 and everything is working fine again!

I will stick some time with sp1 now. As the remote issue was not the only one I had. I also saw posts in this forums about scheduled recording issues....

thanks for the tip, I already tried this and I want to wakeup the PC per remote, so disabling this is not an option for me.
