As New User of your Media Port on my Acer Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bits
I have installed MPort. and everything works fine, even upgrade MovieData base via
IMDB with picture icons etc.

On my Desktop I have two Icon:
Media Port
Media Port Confirguration

Upon clicking MP conf. I get following message:

===================================================================
Your Platform is not supported by MediaPortal Team because it
Lacks critical hotfixes!
Please check our Wiki’s requirements page.

However I can continue and configure all settings without any problems sofar.
On clicking first MP icon the program starts normally.

What is the meaning in this error-message ??
(PS: I have also installed on a Notebook XP Home Edition Sp2 and then NO error
Message.

    Hi William R

It does this if you are not using the latest Service Packs from M$, so i take it you have not installed SP1, does not effect running MP as such, the main improvement i found was memory use dropped.

I'm getting this same error message running Windows Server 2008 with Service Pack 1 installed. I've run through windows update multiple times and there aren't any more updates to download, yet I'm still getting this error message. Is there any way to atleast disable the message?

    edit: I'm running Mediaportal 1.0 RC3

i think the message shows up x amount of times, then there appears a checkbox with "do not show me this again"

as i do not have the problem, cannot confirm if it works or not.

No, the message appears not to be disable-able.

I've been running RC3 on Server 2003 for quite some time, and I ALWAYS get this message. Like William says - everything runs fine. There is no checkbox to disable warnings.

I just take this as the cost of using an unsupported platform for MP. Plus, it's not like I have to enter configuration all the time.

    That addesses cashel's point.

What I don't know is why William is getting this for Vista. That IS supported. I agree with PD - I think you are missing one of the hotfixes listed in system requirements. See https://www.team-mediaportal.com/manual/GeneralRequirements#RequiredUpdatesandHotfixes.28donottrytouseMediaPortalwithout.21.29.

Maybe consider the outdated skin warning, the same to be set up for the unsupported OS's, where the checkbox appears after x times to not show again, think by that time you have got the message :), but that would be upto one of the developers\users to put forward code change and the chances are would not be before MP1.0.1.
