VLC with medialportal (1 Viewer)

Hello guys

i'm using mediaportal to watch my movie but some movie don't play because it use WMP

in the setting I can use VLC to play movie but it's with a new windows, the movie don't play inside the mediaportal

any idea to lauch VLC in the medialportal and not open new windows ??

i use VLC , it does open another windows .. but it closes as soon as the movie or tv show its over

If a movie does not play in MP then you are missing a codec or filter. Configured correctly, MP can play just about any container or format you care to throw at it, so there should be no need to use an external player. What sort of file / format are you trying to play? Use MediaInfo or GSpot to get the detailed info and post back.

for Radikaltimes : my VCL get open in little windows and when the movie is over I need to do ALT+TAB to get back in mediaportal... very creepy when I watch from by bed with the remote

for globaldonkey : they are all avi of mpg files... but some get only sound on don't open at all in WMP and with VLC no problem

I'll try your soft (MediaInfo) to check the files that aren't working and get you some informations

some of my movie where divx or xvid... I used divx 6.6 and WMP cannot open them...

so in downloaded from the page that MediaInfo gived (xvid) and divx6.8

and now WMP can read my movie no probleme... but in mediaportal it seems not work

The simplest answer is to read the codec guide I posted earlier, uninstall the standalone divx codec you installed, along with any other codecs or codec packs you may have installed, and install ffdshow, per the codec guide by goose.

Just enter VLC:quit and the end of the parameters field

so would look something like %filename% vlc:quit

that will close all the vlc windows once the movie is done

I installed ffdshow and now all my movie work on Mediaportal
