Does anyone know, how the volume control under vista has to be configured ? My problem is, that it only works for a few seconds. When I watch the window mixer, the first seconds the slider goes correct up and down. After that, there is only a small blinking in the lower side of mixer control.
I found inside the forum, that the scale has to set to vista, which I have done. In another thread someone wrote, that the control has to be set to wave. This does not work. I can set it to wave, but in the moment I press OK, the radio button switch back to master volume.

    Can anyone help me, please.

    Hi Simone,

scale is set to vista. But the configuration will not save control wave. By pressing the OK button, it switches back to master, and it is not saved as wave.

    ajens,

please rename c:\programdata\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.xml and retry, I think your cfg is somehow corrupted.

Take care that you'll loose all settings and need to enter them back again in MP configuration.

    Hi Simone,

I renamed MediaPortal.xml. But is has no effect. If I press OK, it switches back again as before.

But something else is strange. MediaPortal created a new File, but the old configuration seems to be available. All folders I configured before renaming are present, also the codecs are.

I have really closed configuration, before I tried it :)

    This is odd.

Can you check if you have some other MediaPortal.xml file ? Maybe under "%userprofile%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore" subdirectories.

    Hi Simone,

this was also my first idea. So I searched the whole HD for MediaPortal.xml. It only found the new xml file and the renamed file. I renamed the file to MediaPortal_old.xml. Could this be the reason ?

In the meantime, I removed the new file and moved the backup file to a higher directory. But the result is the same as before. The whole configuration exists as before.

    Hi Simone,

after a few retries, it seems to work partly. I see a OSD now, but the volume does not change. It could be a windows problem, because I have a SPDIF and a HDMI sound output. I may be, that the wrong one is regulated.

I noticed, that the problem seems to be the expert mode. When I switch back to standard mode, I can set the scale to Vista and the control to wave.

The problem, that the configuration is not cleared, could be a problem with the configuration software. After deleting the xml file several times, the configuration window did not have the predefined codecs and folders. Probably there was some instances of the configuration software inside the memory, but was not shown. After waiting a while, I have seen that the configuration was started several times.

A restart of the computer has solved the problem.

    Thanks,

    Andre
