Hi Simone, this was also my first idea. So I searched the whole HD for MediaPortal.xml. It only found the new xml file and the renamed file. I renamed the file to MediaPortal_old.xml. Could this be the reason ? In the meantime, I removed the new file and moved the backup file to a higher directory. But the result is the same as before. The whole configuration exists as before. Andre Hi Simone, after a few retries, it seems to work partly. I see a OSD now, but the volume does not change. It could be a windows problem, because I have a SPDIF and a HDMI sound output. I may be, that the wrong one is regulated. I noticed, that the problem seems to be the expert mode. When I switch back to standard mode, I can set the scale to Vista and the control to wave. The problem, that the configuration is not cleared, could be a problem with the configuration software. After deleting the xml file several times, the configuration window did not have the predefined codecs and folders. Probably there was some instances of the configuration software inside the memory, but was not shown. After waiting a while, I have seen that the configuration was started several times. A restart of the computer has solved the problem. Thanks, Andre
