W7 64 Bit Crash Dump/new install/HVR-2250 (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
Hope I'm putting this post in the appropriate area?

Anyway, I've a new install on a W7 64bit
Hauppauge HVR-2250

When I am setting up the analog channels in server setup and it gets to the 17th scan I get a crash dump. Q scans fine no crash.

Side note, have (ewwww) WMC and it uses the Hauppauge fine (just hate WMC).

Read online re a driver change but that would be going to an older driver than the current one from Hauppauge.

Is there something I'm missing? Or perhaps there's a setting I missed reading about? I spent a lot of time preparing for this install and am pretty frustrated.

Any help will be most appreciated.

I had this problem also. The problem is that Windows seems to load a generic driver for the card. You'll need to download the latest one from Hauppauge's website. Uninstall the current driver for the card and install the new driver. The installer doesn't always seem to register the drivers so you might need to open your %temp% directory and install the INF manually. It's a very annoying problem. I hope this helps you.
