Depending in plug-in, you may be able to log  just the plugins you need [MPTVservie & MovingPictures spring to mind] to SSD - to get the level of logging needed to record the GUI events into log and so trigger drive, I think you'll need to set logging to DEBUG level

Suspect there are better options however
