Is it possible to watch Digital TV files (recorded externally) using Media Portal without converting files?

I have a Set-Top-Box and two other DVB-T cards which create .rec, .ts and .tp files (all MPEG files) but I'd like to play them directly on Media Portal without converting the files. Basically what I'm trying to do is record a .rec/.ts/.tp file (using my desktop PC) onto a file server and watch the file directly on Media Portal without converting the file into another format (like .avi).

Any ideas? I'm not user if TV-Server is able to do this?

Thanks in advance
:)

    Hi

The simple answer is yes you can record from your set-top-box, as for if the DVB-T cards that you have will work I don’t know, perhaps someone with equivalent hardware will be able to answer you. Usually to record from a set-top-box you will have to use a TV-card that can accept an s-video or composite inputs. I don’t think MediaPortal can record directly into other format files as it usually records in "DVR-MS" format, after which you will have to convert it into another format. MediaPortal is used to give you PVR functionality combined with other HTPC functions and not only to just record TV-shows.

Anyway, if you need more detail I propose you search the forums and read the wiki pages. And in future you will have to give more detail on all your hardware and set-up.
